Sporasub Variant
$139.00Three blades are offered: The Comp Blade that is constructed from a highly flexible technopolymer for superior efficiency, great durability, light weight and resistance to wear. This is the ideal fin for freediving. The Master Blade is constructed from an elastomeric technopolymer to offer a softer more flexible fin. This fin is ideal for scuba diving or shallow freediving. Beginners will love this fin because it will decrease muscle fatigue thus making their diving more enjoyable. The Carbon Blade is composed of a special web of carbon fibers for maximum performance for demanding freediving. It is one of the lightest and longest blades in the world and offers unmatched performance. The foot pocket is has been anatomically designed and is constructed from two different materials to maximize comfort and efficiency. The ribbed insole facilitates donning and stiffens the sole to improve the transmission of energy from leg muscles to the fin. The new and exclusive Optimized Pivoting Blade (O.P.B.) allows the Variant to be more than 30% more efficient than traditional fins allowing scuba divers to reduce their air consumption and freedivers to gain greater breathe-hold times. During the fining stroke, the structure of traditional fins, tend to limit the flexing angle of the blade. As a result, especially during the downward kick, only a small portion of the blade pushes the water in the direction of motion, while the rest pushes water in the opposite direction. The O.P.B. system patented by Sporasub ensures the blade is always at an optimum angle during both the upward and downward strokes. That angle varies between the blade and the foot pocket from 20-45 degrees thus considerably increasing the divers efficiency in the direction of motion. While traditional fins have a degradation of thrust at the ends of each kick cycle the O.P.B. optimizes the thrust during every phase of the kick cycle, virtually eliminating dead angles thus reducing diver fatigue and improving performance. Of course saying that one’s fins are the best is simply not enough. Sporasub proved this statement by performing testing on fin thrust and efficiency at the Institute of Technology and Mechanics at Genoa University. With extensive scientific and field data Sporasub is proud to offer a new, unique fin that is suitable for divers of all levels, while providing optimum efficiency at minimal effort.
