Store Policies
To find products you are interested in, you may browse by category using the navigation bar on the left side of the screen or use the product search box. When you find something you wish to purchase, select options (if any) for that item and click the “Add to Cart” button for that product. The first time you do this you will be taken to the shopping cart page. If you are planning to make several purchases, uncheck the box on the shopping cart to indicate that you do not want to be taken to the shopping cart each time you add an item. You may always return to the shopping cart at any time by clicking any “View Cart” button. Until you “check out” on the shopping cart screen, no actual order is placed, and no charges are made. Key underwater life-support equipment (tanks, regulators, BCs, rebreathers, drysuits, etc.) are sold with the understanding that they will be used only by properly trained and certified divers. If you need training and can’t get it locally where you live, consider coming to visit us! We have new basic SCUBA classes starting four times per month. Advanced and specialty classes are also available on a less frequent schedule.
Shipping:
Enter your destination zipcode for sales tax and UPS shipping rate calculation. We collect sales tax only for deliveries within California. We use UPS shipping using your choice of available services. Bulky and heavy items such as kayaks and compressors are drop-shipped from the manufacturer via motor freight. Most items are shipped from stock within 24 hours. You will be notified by e-mail if any item is not available for immediate shipment (out-of-stock or items such as drysuits that must be finished by the manufacturer to your specifications). Call or e-mail for special arrangements if UPS does not ship to your destination.
Returns:
We sell new equipment with full manufacturer’s warranties. You may return items that do not meet your expectations for any reason within 30 days as long as you return it in new condition in the original package. For life-support equipment such as BCs and regulators, “new” condition means “unused”. Please call or e-mail for return authorization and shipping instructions. Please include your order number and reason for return in your package. You are responsible for return shipping charges. We strongly recommend insuring for shipping damage and loss. Note that most drysuits are subject to a 30% restocking charge, because they are built to order to your specifications. We will try to help you correct fitting errors, although extra costs may be incurred.
Payment:
You may pay for your purchases on-line using MasterCard or VISA using our secure server. We also accept e-checks which are processed through Authorize.net. Checks are also acceptable, but we will not ship before we receive your check.
Antifraud note:
Our in-store customers are our local dive friends and visitors, and we experience a very low rate of attempted credit card or check fraud. However, the internet is like the high seas, and there are pirates out there that like to prey on on-line businesses like ours that carry a lot of high-value merchandise. So please forgive us if we’re a little cautious! We verify all credit cards including billing address and “Card Verification Value” (those extra digits on the back of your card). If your purchase is not authorized, please check for spelling errors or possible differences from the information on file with your credit card issuer. If you cannot figure out the problem and correct it, please call or e-mail, and we’ll see if we can help (unless, of course, you’re a “pirate”!).
