This course
provides the training and experience required
to competently utilize air for dives up to 180
fsw. These dives require stage decompression utilizing
Nitrox mixtures and the technical diving equipment
listed below. Topics covered in class include
gas management, decompression table selection,
advanced equipment configutation, decompression
sickness (DCS) avoidance, DCS signs and symptoms
recognition, DCS teatment, review of the physics
and physiology of deep diving, and more.
Course will explore the depths of the Monterey
Bay or any other tropical dive destination of
your choice.
The Aqua Safaris staff may be able to provide
this course in a number of other locations including
Hawaii, Florida, British Columbia and Cozumel
(Mexico). Please ask!
Class Details
PREREQUISITES:
• 18 years old
• 100+ dives
• 15 dives deeper than 100 feet
• must own all of your own equipment (tanks can be rented)

- drysuit (required for cold water diving)
- one A-rated regulator that has been
serviced within the year
- one A-rated regulator that has been
serviced within the year with a 6+ ft long
2nd stage hose with pressure gauge and compass
- one good regulator (serviced)
- one regulator cleaned for 100% oxygen
with octo and short pressure gauge

- one 100–120 cu ft tank with H valve (oxygen
cleaned) or (a better option) two tanks with double isolation valves
- two depth gauges with two timers (or
computer) rated for minimum of 300 ft

- one 50–80 cu ft Nitrox tank (sling
deco tank)
- one 30–50 cu ft Nitrox tank (sling

- BC with double bladder system set up
for bottom mix tank and capable of hanging sling
tanks
- hardware and bungie cords to put it
