Scuba Center can train students with disabilities
which include paraplegia, quadriplegia, hemiplegia,
double BK amputation, cerebral palsy, blind,
etc.
The HSA has developed a multilevel certification
program which is available at Aqua Safaris Scuba
Center in Santa Cruz. The level of certification
is based on the student’s ability and degree
of buddy dependency. Come experience the feeling
of weightlessness underwater—you will love
the freedom and incredible marine life! SCUBA
diving can change your life!
INSTRUCTION INCLUDES:
• Classroom sessions
• Pool sessions
• Open water dives in the Monterey Bay

About HSA Certification:
HSA (Handicapped SCUBA Association International)
was founded in 1981 by Jim Gatacre, a NAUI Instructor
and disabled diver. Certification is multi-leveled,
designed to meet the differing needs of physically
disabled divers. The level of certification
depends on the student’s abilities and needs
The HSA is worldwide, with over 800 instructors
in 25 different countries. Aqua Safaris SCUBA
Center is the only facility on the Central Coast
actively certifying divers with disabilities.
Instructors lead participants through a self-paced
fun-filled class.
